The SCI Mission &
Shrine Partnership

The Sankofa Community Institute mission is to teach...so we can build community.

As a naturally community-oriented people, our traditional societies and systems have always been about the group, the tribe, the community...with the child at the center and the elders overlooking. This belief system, this cultural understanding, this way of life was one of the many things that allowed traditional Afrikan societies to thrive, prosper and do things that the world, with all of its current money, scientific understanding and technologies, still can't determine, understand and figure out. At the Sankofa Community Institute, we want to do what we can to bring that way of life back.

The Sankofa Community Institute (SCI) is about learning. Our focus is on identifying, vetting and selecting individuals who have something to teach to then connect them with an audience that wants to learn. As grassroots communities continue to be the target of those in power, we must do all we can to "circle the wagons", to mobilize and organize for self-sufficiency as much as possible to ensure that we not only survive the next 50-100 years, but we thrive in the next 50-100 years.

What is YOUR Intellectual Capital?
What do you know how to do? What are you good at? Where have you excelled, both personally and professionally that people, any person, can benefit from? From sewing to cooking to social media to meeting new people to salsa dancing to social media to coding to AI; whatever you know, SOMEONE has the desire to learn it. The Sankofa Community Institute is about putting you in a position to learn, for others to learn, so we can collectively build.
